THE STORY OF SACCO'S MAKES IT PERSONAL
I am Angie Sacco, Its March, 2025, Im am now very nearly 40, a mum to 3 teenagers and a wife to my Lovely Digger obsessed, Digger driving Husband Antony
AKA: THE GOD OF ALL MEN!
I have always been creative, taking Art at GCSE and Ive always been into fashion design and embroidery. I had a little sewing machine as a teenager and would make all sorts of random and wonderful things with it, I loved it, I remember seeing an old style embroidery machine at a car boot sale once when I was about 10 years old but it was too expensive at the time, and I couldn't afford it, I was gutted!
I wanted to do Fashion design in Pembrokeshire college after leaving secondary school but quickly realised, due to living in the middle of nowhere, without a bus route (we had to book a bus to the closest town) that Id have to start my day as 5am and wouldn't get home until after 7pm. This left little room for any homework needed to complete my course, so after dabbling in care work, waitressing, photography, Law and hairdressing, I headed to London to train as a nurse.
I Love London for the culture but I hated the city and being so far away from home and the Beach, so I headed back to my home of West Wales and went back to college to do childcare. It was good, I got offered a job at several of my placements and chose CwmCou school. I worked there for a few years as an LSA and even held my wedding reception there, after having my 3rd child, I decided to be a stay at home mum. It was a challenge to work and be there for my children.
I played around with different hobbies, making personalised framed prints and full crystal Brooch Bouquets for weddings,Making flower girl dresses and I also made costumes for the local Feithrin for their nativity but nothing really took off. In the end I helped to re-start up an old business that my mother-in-law once had, selling wallpaper in a local shop. B&M came quickly and after about 12 months, knocked our business out, so we adapted and moved into discounted designer clothing but after 6 months my mother and father-in-law decided it was time to retire and gave up the business, to rent the shop. I came out of it with a little money and so when the opportunity arose to purchase a large vinyl cutter and heat press, I used it to set up Sacco's Makes It Personal.
Mum had been bored, so I'd found her an opportunity to get involved in some charity work, The Charity was based in Scotland, and mum started making memorial packs and burial outfits for babies born sleeping. I got involved a little but we found out The Charity and the people who ran it, weren't as charitable as we thought and we decided to start up our own here in Wales. We registered as a genuine Charity and did all the work ourselves and flew. We held huge local event, I even abseiled down Pembroke castle...... we donated many cuddle cots to hospitals and funeral homes all over the UK and gave out thousands of certificates of life and memorial packs. we had a small group of volunteers so it was really just me and mum doing all the running around and organising as well as the sewing. During Covid, because we had no building, no rent, no staff costs, and as it was completely voluntary work, we didn't get any help from the government for our Charity, so Cariad Angel Gowns had to close down.
Sacco's Makes It Personal started as a hobby in 2018, it became a genuine registered business and an online store in 2020 working from home in a tiny box room, we soon outgrew our space and moved into a static in the back garden, and after 4 years of hard work, my grandads passing, leaving us some inheritance, which purchased the embroidery machines, my husband being diagnosed with MS and my eldest being diagnosed with Autism, we headed to North Road in Cardigan, West wales.
